Huvepharma Dr. Bruce Wren Continuing Education Beef Award Application

Huvepharma is granting these awards in honor of Dr. Bruce Wren in recognition of his commitment to practical and formal continuing education.

All fields are required, and must be filled in before submitting the application.

Professional-development plan (40 points)

Share your short-term and long-term goals for involvement in beef practice?

Describe how you would use a $5,000 Huvepharma Dr. Bruce Wren CE Award to help reach those goals. Note: The award is intended for applicant-specific CE; the award is not intended for equipment purchase, debt relief or employee costs.

How would your participation in this program/experience help you bring more value to your beef-producer clients?

Professional and Community Activities (10 points)

Describe your involvement in veterinary, agricultural and/or civic organizations. Please name organizations, positions held and any award(s) received. Collegiate or relevant youth involvement also may be included.

References (30 points)

Please provide three references from people who have a working knowledge of your practice experience or educational interest. At least one reference must be from a beef producer and at least one must be from a veterinarian.

Please share this background with each person providing a reference.  References must be completed online.

Letters of reference should address the following areas:

  1. The integrity and character of the applicant, including leadership skills, rapport with others and professional standing.
  2. Your working relationship with the applicant, how long and in what capacity you have known/worked with him/her.
  3. Specific area(s) of bovine veterinary practice in which the applicant excels, areas where the applicant needs/desires to grow and how the applicant would benefit from the opportunities provided by the $5,000 grant.

Supporting Material

Winning applicant will be contacted to submit four to six color photos, along with captions, that can be used in award presentations and for publicity. Ideally they will provide background about your current and/or desired future involvement in beef veterinary practice.


Applications AND references must be submitted online by July 15 to be considered.

Incomplete applications will not be considered or returned.
