Job Description:

 Cattle, horses, cats, dogs, pigs, goats, and sheep, we see and treat them all! We are a busy rural mixed animal practice that has been serving Grimes County since 1956. We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian who wants to experience progressive mixed animal practice with the latest in digital radiology, ultrasound, cautery, endoscopy, and full in house blood analyzers. Our practice is 50% small animal, 50% large animal. We have an excellent large and small animal support staff and a newly renovated 5000 sqft small animal clinic with 5 exam rooms and a modern treatment area. Our large animal facilities consist of an air-conditioned equine room, 3 hydraulic cattle chutes, and 10 acres of pens used for hospitalization and our in house cattle AI program. We enjoy mentorship and are always looking to learn new ideas from new graduates. We are not looking for just "a veterinarian." We are seeking a hard-working, honest veterinarian who wants to excel in professional and family life and is a great fit for our current practice environment. Duties include rotating on-call schedule with other veterinarians on staff.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
 Large animal facility contains-3 hydraulic cattle chutes ( 2 of these are tilt chutes for footwork),10 acres of pens for hospitalization and our in house AI program, and an air-conditioned equine/ small ruminant room. Small Animal Facility contains - 5 exam rooms, a large treatment area, 2 surgery tables, full in-house blood analyzers. 
Other Personnel :  We are looking to add a 6th full-time veterinarian to our practice. we have an excellent support staff of large and small animal technicians some of which have been with our practice for over 20 years. We expect you to be a veterinarian, not a technician. 
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
 Our practice does it all. A typical day may involve you putting in a cervical prolapse, then going inside to sew up a cut hog dog, then popping in a room for a wellness visit, before hopping back into the barn to test 10 bulls. Every day in our practice is different which is what our staff and veterinarians love. We emphasize communication with clients and producers. We enjoy being a part of the decision-making process for their animals and work with all levels of clientele. We have a long history of having new graduates and want our veterinarians to experience a great practice life and home life.  
Practice Area:  We are in a rural county 20 minutes from Bryan College Station and an hour and a half from Houston. We are fortunate to have a great rural community within a short drive from the big city.
