Environment:

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
We have an office building that serves as a home base but our work is 100% ambulatory. Truck, ultrasound, and all necessary veterinary equipment provided. In-house culture and blood chemistry machine.
Other Personnel :   Experienced office support staff.
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
We are a bovine practice. Most of our work comes from progressive dairies but we have a handful of regular cow/calf clients as well. The base of our practice is reproductive health but we still see a lot of individual medicine cases, we still do surgeries, and we do consulting work on caretaker training, milk quality, treatment protocols, preventive herd health, and many other topics. Our team runs from recent graduates to experienced veterans and we work closely together to sharpen each other into better veterinarians. Herd health work is rotated among all vets and will be shared by the new hire as soon as their competency allows. On-call is shared equally by all doctors which allows for a great work-life balance.
Practice Area:  Northern Michigan is beautiful in every season. Outdoor recreation of any kind is readily available with woods and water everywhere. McBain is a small farming community but we do have a lot of services right here in town. Cadillac is 20 minutes away and has everything you might need. Grand Rapids and Traverse City are both about 1.5hrs away and have everything you might want. Beautiful, unsalted, and shark-free Lake Michigan beaches are less than a 1.5hr drive as well.
