Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
|
There are 2 practice facilities. The primary facility where haul in cattle, horses, routine companion animal and emergency calls are done is located on Main street in Kadoka. The satellite practice which is currently doing companion animal and retail 1 day a week is located in Philip next to the sale barn (we don't do salebarn work). We provide doctors with ultrasounds, Lane Pulse bull testing equipment, phase contrast as well as standard microscopes, digital x ray, in-house blood work. We have gas anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring for our companion animals as well as a padded equine surgery room. We have hydraulic chutes, hydraulic trim tables, haul in facilities, and fully stocked vet trucks with Bowie vet boxes. |
Other Personnel : |
We want to let our vets do medicine, so we provide exceptional support staff including customer service reps, vet assistants and practice managers to help the day go smooth. There is a 4 staff:doctor ratio. You will be joining one managing veterinarian as the 2 retiring veterinarians start to cut back hours. We have a vet assistant that rides in the truck for all chute jobs, and all emergency is done at our Kadoka facility so you won't be living in your truck. |
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
We emphasize professionalism from our weekly team meetings, to continuing education. Our unique on-boarding allows you to blend in seamlessly with our culture by understanding our values, beliefs, vision and customers’ needs. While we serve an expansive beef cow/calf area, doctors are encouraged to pursue their specific interest and specialties. The benefit of living in rural SD is that you get to perform advanced surgery and internal medicine in all species. Also, the emergency load is RIDICULOUSLY LOW. We average <40 emergencies per doctor per year. Come build a career with us! Check us out at westernvs.com |
