Objective:
|
Our Technical Service Managers interact face to face with our customers, understand their needs and consult to offer the right solutions. We work collaboratively with our territory sales representatives and play a critical role in supporting our customer centric business model. This field-based position is responsible for providing technical support to sales and marketing for Merck Animal Health products specific to the US Cattle business. Responsibilities include providing technical support for cattle products and programs, including response to product inquiries and adverse reports in accordance with internal, FDA, CFIA and USDA regulatory policies. The position will require developing research trial protocols, trial monitoring, and summarizing clinical and marketing support trials specific to beef cattle health. Position will be required to maintain contact with key industry professionals to include academic and veterinary-related individuals or groups. Additional duties will include attending and presenting in prominent industry scientific meetings. |
Training Required:

Position Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement:
● Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree.
Required Experience and Skills:
● Must have minimum of 5 years cattle veterinary and/or animal science experience with a focus on the feed yard market segment.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Public speaking in front of both small and large groups.
● Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated skills in building relationships with clients, customers, and key opinion leaders.
● Ability to work in a team environment.
● Demonstrated leadership skills.
● Ability to digest extremely technical information and present it in understandable terms to lay people.

Experience Desired:
|
Preferred Experience and Skills:
● Field experience in cattle production and medicine.
● Veterinary license in at least one state.
● Experience and skills in designing and conducting research experiments.
● An advanced degree (MS, PhD) in an animal science or veterinary medicine-related field (i.e. veterinary sciences, epidemiology, immunology, ruminant nutrition, physiology of reproduction, etc).
