Description: Nutrition is the single most important management factor influencing profitability in cow-calf operations. Are you interested in providing more services to your cow-calf clients? Want to understand more about nutrition and how it can provide value added services to your practice and clients? This seminar is targeting practitioners with some basic to intermediate level of nutrition background to help them further their understanding of principles of beef cow nutrition and practice the application of such principles in using the BRaNDS beef cow nutrition software in evaluating or formulating diets. The first day of the program will provide basic nutritional concepts of beef cattle nutrition and integrate new information from the pending NRC publication. A review of the BRaNDS software application will be integrated into this information to allow the practitioner to become familiar with fundamentals of the program. The second day will focus more on applications of nutrition using case studies to demonstrate beef cow nutritional principles. Participants are welcome to bring one of their clientís feeding programs to use as a case study in working with the faculty. You will have an opportunity to purchase the BRaNDS program at the time of the seminar or at a later date. We will load the program on your laptop so you can use your computer. If you do not have a laptop and want to participate in the seminar, contact the coordinator as we can make arrangements for a limited number of extra computers.
