Objective:
|
Sioux Nation Ag Center is looking for an associate with a passion for rural veterinary medicine. This position is open in Scotland, South Dakota, a friendly small town where everybody knows your name. Our practice scope is mainly beef, but would be willing to develop in other areas of interest.
At Sioux Nation Ag we strive for young veterinarians to have the best mentoring opportunities in the industry. In addition to the resident veterinarian for this clinic, our staff has over a dozen other veterinarians with various areas of expertise that are happy to help a young doctor grow in his or her career. |

Training Required:

DVM Degree or equivalent, USDA accreditation, and South Dakota license (licensing can be acquired after hiring)

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

Scotland features a new clinic, complete with a haul-in facility that includes a Silencer chute and a tilt table, a laboratory, office space and a conference room.
Individually associates will be provided with a pickup with vet box and all the necessary tools. Scotland has portable chutes, including a portable hydraulic Silencer chute, for use in the country. |

Sioux Nation Scotland employs one veterinarian, two full time veterinary assistants and one office personnel, along with multiple part time helpers. On-call is shared with two doctors at a second location in Viborg, South Dakota.
As a company, Sioux Nation Ag center employs 13 food animal veterinarians dedicated to swine, poultry, dairy, beef, small ruminants and small animals that work together to address customer needs and can mentor new associates. |

This position is located in southeast South Dakota in the town of Scotland, population 841. Scotland has a hospital/pharmacy, multiple daycares, a grocery store, a post office, a nursing home, a hardware store, and a great elementary/high school. Our cost of living is one of the lowest in the United States and South Dakota does not collect income taxes.
We are only a thirty-minute drive from Yankton (population 14,500) and 40 miles from Mitchell (population 15,000), two regional hubs in the state. Though most residents do their business locally, these cities provide shopping opportunities for specialty stores and employment for family members.
Scotland offers great outdoor opportunities including hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping. In particular, the James River located a few miles east of town is a flyway for duck migration, and includes hundreds of acres of open hunting for waterfowl, deer, turkey and upland game. Scotland also has many clubs and associations that are happy to welcome new people into the community. |
