Job Description:
 

Objective:
 The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (LCS) at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) is seeking applicants to fill a tenure track position in Dairy Cattle Production Medicine at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will conduct teaching, extension, and research activities related to the MSU CVM mission to serve the dairy industry of the state. This position will be jointly appointed in Michigan AgBioResearch and MSU Extension.  
Training Required:
 Candidates must have a veterinary medical degree (DVM, VMD, BVSc, or equivalent) and an advanced graduate degree (PhD desirable) or evidence of equivalent research experience and scholarly productivity. Candidates should be eligible for licensing in the State of Michigan (an academic license option exists). 
Experience Desired:
 Applicants should have experience collaborating with dairy professionals to solve problems and deliver science-based solutions. The position requires an effective communicator able to impact both scientific peers and industry stakeholders, and possessing the ability to leverage technology to increase the reach and impact of clinical and research findings. Special consideration will be given to applicants with, but not limited to: PhD, board certification, advanced data analytic skills, dairy herd automation and monitoring knowledge, and practical experience in dairy cattle health management, instruction, and outreach programs (such as previous teaching at a university level, extension position, private or public practice or in agricultural industry).
