Objective:
|
We are looking to add a highly self-motivated and hard-working associate veterinarian who is excited about the opportunities and challenges of large dairy herd medicine/management. |
|
Training Required:
|
DVM or equivalent degree and California veterinary license |
|
Experience Desired:
|
Experienced as well as new graduate veterinarians are welcome to apply |

Salary:
|
We offer a starting base salary of $95,000 plus the possibility of a production bonus. |

We provide an excellent benefits package. It includes: all licensing and professional membership dues covered, medical and disability insurance, gym membership, one CE trip per year (hotel, registration, travel and food stipend are all provided), 2 weeks of paid vacation per year (this increases to 3 weeks after 2 years of employment and 4 weeks after 5 years), and a retirement account will be started after 2 years of employment. In addition, every veterinarian (including owners) shares in on-call duty evenly. This means you‘re only on call every 9th weekend and one weeknight every other week. |

Every veterinarian is provided with a truck and vet box as well as any supplies or tools needed to carry out the job. |

MCVS currently consists of 9 full-time dairy veterinarians as well as 5 full-time support staff (office manager, microbiologist who manages milk quality laboratory and 3 additional technicians to help with the milk laboratory work and field work). |

Mill Creek offers the very best of environments for dairy practitioners. Our practice area is the Central Valley of California from Merced down to Bakersfield, and we provide services to over 90 dairies throughout the valley. Our dairies range in size from 800 to 10,000 milking cows with an average herd size of around 2,000. Our veterinarians provide all aspects of large herd dairy medicine and management, including but not limited to: routine herd health consultation, reproductive services, emergency services, milk barn assessments, employee training in English and Spanish and records analysis. Our clinic also runs a very busy milk quality laboratory. We provide an excellent mentorship program for new graduates to ensure your success as you begin your career. There are 9 veterinarians here with a wide range of interests within dairy practice so new graduates have ample experience to draw on. |

Mill Creek is based in Tulare County, California, in the heart of the country's biggest dairy region. We have mild winters and warm summers, and are located within 2 hours of the beautiful Central Coast region of California. The Sierra Nevada Mountains with endless outdoor opportunities are within an hour of our clinic, as is the gateway to Sequoia National Park. Los Angeles and San Francisco are both approximately 3 hours away. Fresno is 45 minutes away and has a very convenient international airport.
