Job Description:

Objective:
|
The University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) is seeking a dynamic, experienced veterinarian with a passion for teaching bovine medicine and surgery, for a full-time or part-time position in Production Animal Medicine.
A dynamic multidisciplinary team is responsible for delivering the bovine component of the curriculum at the UCVM. This team is currently seeking a new colleague with a passion for clinical teaching, and supporting the professional development of our students. |

Training Required:
|
Successful candidates must hold a DVM (or equivalent) and for the professorial stream additionally a PhD degree. The applicant should be licensed or eligible for immediate licensure in the Province of Alberta, Canada. There are some opportunities for special or limited licensure within the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association. |
|
Experience Desired:
|
A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience is preferred, but all applicants with demonstrated expertise in bovine clinical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, previous experience mentoring or working with students, and passion for clinical bovine teaching will be considered.
Advanced clinical or population health training is considered an asset. |

Salary:
|
Depending on university rank and whether the successful candidate is considered for the instructor or professorial stream, salaries will be negotiated within the universities mandate |

The UCVM is a dynamic community with approximately 70 faculty members, 130 staff, 140 DVM students, 150 graduate students, 35 post-doctoral fellows, and 15 advanced clinical trainees. UCVM's DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education with currently 50 students per year. The program is an integrated core-elective program that combines discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off-campus experiential learning.
