Objective:
 The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM) Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, Blacksburg, VA, invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, calendar-year, clinical non-tenure or tenure track faculty position. The candidate would serve (work) in the Food Animal Ambulatory Service of the Production Management Medicine Section at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team supporting the teaching, clinical service, outreach and research goals of the College. The successful candidate will share service and teaching responsibilities with faculty members in the Food Animal Field Services in the Production Management Medicine Section. The clinical duties of this position have an emphasis towards ambulatory field service, outpatient and in-house case management and shared after-hours emergency coverage. Applicants must be committed to excellent patient care, exceptional client service, and establishing relationships with referring veterinarians. The food animal caseload is varied and consists of approximately 50% beef cattle, 20% dairy cattle, 25% small ruminant and 5% swine. Scholarly activity and participation in collaborative research will be expected with a clinical non-tenure track faculty position. The expectations for Tenure track applicants will include development of an independent research program with external funding. The candidate will contribute to experiential, didactic, laboratory, and small group instruction of DVM students. The successful candidate will join a team environment, working closely with colleagues in the production management medicine service and large animal medicine and surgery services, while establishing relationships with other colleagues within the VMCVM and across the University.  
Training Required:
 This position requires a DVM or equivalent degree with 3-5 years of clinical experience with food animal species.  
Experience Desired:
 The candidate would preferably have previous experience working with veterinary students in a clinical environment and 5 years of food animal experience. Successful completion of a residency training program approved by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, American College of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, American College of Theriogenology, or American College of Internal Medicine. An advanced degree (MS/PhD) in biomedical sciences is preferred. 
Salary:
 Salary and rank will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 Clinical practice with the intent of delivering excellent service to local clientele within a 35 mile radius of Blacksburg. Instruction with clinical year veterinary students.
