Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
At Keseca we recognize that success on the dairy requires attention to cows, their environment and the people that work with them. We are dedicated to helping our producers manage all three of these areas well, as well as providing an enjoyable work environment for our employees where individuals are encouraged to develop both professionally and personally. We strive to create a reasonable work schedule for all of our veterinarians so that everyone can enjoy a life outside of the practice. We try to finish our workdays by 4pm, and most of our clients are well educated in treating their own routine emergencies. In addition to routine reproduction / comprehensive herd health work including ultrasound and breeding soundness exams, enhancing milk quality on our dairies is a major focus of our clinic. We also offer client education programs, bilingual employee training and computerized records analysis (DairyComp 305 and PCDart). We provide services for a diverse clientele. With well-established Mennonite communities in our four-county practice area, we maintain a strong base of 40-50 cow dairies, providing mostly routine herd health and traditional veterinary services. We also work with several larger dairies (500 - 4,000 cows), providing more consultative services. Please visit our website at www.kesecavet.com to get a more complete picture of who we are.
Practice Area:  Keseca is located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York state, an area renowned for its natural beauty, its wineries and its rich farmland. Geneva is a college town located on the north shore of Seneca Lake, a one-hour drive from Syracuse, Rochester and Ithaca (Cornell University), and a two-hour drive from the Canadian border (Niagara Falls & Alexandria Bay) and the Adirondack Mountains. This unique area offers endless opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast - boating, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, cycling and mountain biking, hunting and fishing - and yet is still a short drive away from the airports, museums and theatres of the surrounding cities.
