 The Lewiston Veterinary Clinic seeks a full-time Large Animal Associate Veterinarian to join our team and fill the needs of our large animal practice. 
Training Required:
 DVM, licensure or ability to be licensed in both Washington and Idaho; USDA accreditation or ability to hold accreditation in both Washington and Idaho  
Experience Desired:
 Experience with livestock handling and animal production systems, knowledge of the equine industry. 
 Salary position, compensation DOE Rotating on-call schedule is for large animal cases only. 
 Medical,dental, insurance, 401k, disability,life insurance, vacation, and sick. CE, AVMA membership dues, Idaho and Washington State licensing fees, Idaho Board of Pharmacy fees, and DEA license fees.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
 The Lewiston Veterinary Clinic was established in 1953. This job opening is for a large animal associate, however it is a mixed animal practice with a full-service small animal clinic as well. We have excellent large animal haul-in facilities and most clients bring animals to the clinic for services. Horse barn is equipped with four stocks,a colic/surgery stall, outdoor runs, turnout and indoor stalls. The cow barn has a hydraulic tip chute,two calving/surgery chutes, and an additional chute with multiple hospital stalls. Another barn houses the small ruminant and calf ward. Full in-house laboratory, multiple ultrasound machines, and digital radiography. Practice vehicle and portable hydraulic chute available for call-outs. 
Other Personnel :  Two full-time large animal veterinarians and three full-time small animal veterinarians. Two experienced large animal technicians available, with rotating pre-vet student's assistants.  
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
 Our practice area includes a 70+ mile radius with primarily cow-calf work, ranch and rodeo horses, and 4-H animals. Cases range from individual animal medicine to herd health. We also provide services to the local salesyard. The large animal caseload is seasonal, Sept-Dec preg checks and herd work, January-May with calving and April-July with equine repro work. We provide veterinary services to several county fairs as well as a PRCA rodeo every September. Washington State University Veterinary School is 30 minutes for referral of colic cases and consultation; our clinic frequently host 4th year veterinary students for externship rotations. We pride ourselves in community involvement and encourage each veterinarian to develop their skills in their area of professional interest.  
Practice Area:  Lewiston-Clarkston Valley sits at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers in the panhandle of Idaho. With a temperate climate the location allows access to world-class fishing, hunting, river rafting, and other outdoor activities. The towns combined host a population of 50,000 people, two hospitals, a state college, two local airports and major retailers. We are 30 minutes south of the University of Idaho in Moscow, and Washington State University in Pullman. Spokane International Airport is two hours north.
