Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
Our physical building is spacious, modern and includes personal desk space, break/conference room, 2 stall heated attached garage, in house lab, in-clinic laundry, locker room with shower and retail area.
Trucks(your choice of what to drive), vet boxes and equipment are professional looking and kept in good repair.
Traditionally our practice has been rooted deeply in the dairy industry, but we have seen significant growth in our beef and small ruminant sectors over the last few years. Our customers range from the very traditional to the modern, progressive farms milking 1500+ (largest is 5000).
At the moment, approximately 80% of our clients are within 20 miles of the clinic, however growth is happening on the fringes. We strive to be part of the ‘dairy team’ for our clients by being familiar and up to date with farm records and performance, attending farm management meetings, and having regular communication with the farm’s other advisors. We value the personal relationships we have developed with our clients and view them as both friends and partners in the dairy industry.
We work hard, but encourage time away to pursue personal interests and work/life balance. On-call and weekend duties are shared evenly with a 3 day weekend standard following a weekend worked. Evening and weekend emergencies are becoming less frequent due to our progressive clientele and training to provided producers.
Yearly business planning, we feel is essential to being a well managed, successful practice. All veterinarian are encouraged to participate and contribute to the direction of the practice.
Practice Area:
The clinic is located in the town of Freeport which lies within Stearns County. Stearns County is the #1 dairy county in MN with young and progressive dairies. The agriculture in this area thrives because of the ag-centric community. Located on I-94 approximately one hour from the Twin Cities Metro area and 20 minutes from St. Cloud, a community of about 68,000.
