Objective:
 The Staff Veterinarian role was created as a partnership between Agri Beef and Veterinary Research and Consulting Services (VRCS) to help develop future leaders and team members in the beef cattle industry. Combining Agri Beef’s vertically integrated beef production system with the veterinary expertise and coaching from VRCS, the Staff Veterinarian position is a hands-on, immersive learning and development opportunity to progress both as a leader and veterinarian. With a focus on practicing integrated evidence-based veterinary work, the Staff Veterinarian will work to investigate epidemiological outbreaks and poor cattle performance to create favorable future outcomes. The Staff Veterinarian oversees the health program, breeding soundness exams, and State mandated trich testing requirements for the Wagyu bulls that are the backbone of the world-renowned, Snake River Farms American Wagyu Beef program. Training Required:
 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) required. Licensure and USDA Accreditation in Idaho, Washington to start. Will work towards licensure in Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana, and Wyoming as duties expand. (can obtain after hire)  
Experience Desired:
 Practical experience in cattle production and population medicine. Working knowledge of the beef industry and current events. 
Salary:
 Depending on experience. All CE and licensure covered by the company.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
 Based out of our brand new Bull Development Center, a completely re-worked feedyard with barn designed specifically for bull work. Agri Beef also manages 6 confined cattle feeding operations in Washington and Idaho. Outside partners includes ranches and growyards across the Pacific Northwest. 
Other Personnel :  The Staff Vet works within the Livestock division. This includes team members at the feedyard, procurement and plant levels.  
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
 There is immense opportunity to develop veterinary skills and knowledge when you have the ability to work inside a vertically integrated beef company. As the Staff Vet you will be able to influence the health, welfare and performance of cattle throughout their entire life-cycle. You will help strengthen and drive genetic improvement of the Wagyu breed through projects, matings, bull and heifer development and data analysis. Provide integrated evidence-based medicine, technology, animal husbandry and management practices to feeding partners (feedlots, growyards, and pasture) who raise and feed outside company owned cattle. 
Practice Area:  Position is based out of Boise, Idaho. The Boise area is set between two beautiful mountain ranges and has many amenities, activities and restaurants. There are lots of outdoor activities available year round such as skiing, golfing, rodeos, concerts and so much more. The Staff Vet works with AB feedyards and outside producers across Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana, and Wyoming. Travel to these places include some incredible areas and views.
