Improve the success of herd genetics and reproductive efficiency for clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region. Utilizing both conventional and in-vitro fertilization methods of embryo production for making pregnancies and going beyond each client’s specific needs and expectations. Work with a progressive team that is passionate about bovine reproduction and sets high professionalism standards for work ethic and environment. Duties: •Collection, processing, and morphologic evaluation of in-vivo produced bovine embryos. •Aspirate donor cows via transvaginal ovum pick-up techniques to collect oocytes for in-vitro fertilization in conjunction with Trans Ova Genetics satellite labs. •Transfer of both fresh and frozen in-vivo and in-vitro derived embryos. •Cryopreservation of both in-vivo and in-vitro derived embryos. •Discuss donor and recipient schedules with team members and clients to ensure protocols are being followed to maximize success. This also entails troubleshooting situations where donor cows and recipients fail to produce results consistent with expectations. •Utilize ultrasonography for early pregnancy diagnosis and at later stages for determining fetal sex. •Coordinate and determine appropriate requirements for donors and embryos that are destined for export which meet standards of the importing country.
Training Required:
•Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent. •Ability to acquire veterinary licensure in appropriate states. •Accreditation with USDA-APHIS. •Certification or ability to become certified with American Embryo Transfer Association.
Experience Desired:
Embryo transfer experience preferred but not required.
