Objective:
|
LIVESTOCK VETERINARY SERVICES is seeking a BOVINE VETERINARIAN to join our progressive practice in Picture Butte, ALBERTA. We are a privately owned, 5 vet practice that takes pride in delivering high-quality knowledge and service to Alberta’s progressive farmers and ranchers. We are a primarily DAIRY practice (85%) with the remainder being cow-calf work on some of southern Alberta’s most picturesque ranches. Our service model is preventive and consultation-based, with a minimal amount of emergency calls. |

DVM or equivalent and eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta |

We are a progressive dairy focused practice servicing Southern Alberta, Canada. Our veterinary team delivers routine herd health services as well as an array of specialty services including: Data/Record Analysis, Cow comfort evaluation, Lameness evaluations, Calf and replacement heifer management, Milking procedure analysis with VaDia vacuum recorders, Early and accurate ultrasound diagnosis of pregnancy/embryo viability and ovarian structures, Effective reproduction protocols at a herd and individual cow level, Transition cow health and nutrition audits, Udder health evaluations, Vaccine and treatment protocol development, Pro-action preparation (SOP’s, corrective action plans, CQM scripts), Nutrition consultation in conjunction with your nutritionist, Calf Barn Ventilation Assessment and Consulting, Consulting and SOPs related to DeLaval Herd Navigator, Calf Lung Ultrasonography.
We also provide on farm technician services and have an in house laboratory.
Our clinic is part of the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Distributed Veterinary Learning Community. We provide an advanced dairy rotation for final year students from the UCVM as well as a dairy elective rotation to WCVM students.
