Objective:
|
Looking for an associate interested in large animal medicine. We are an established practice located in the town of Albion, in southern Idaho. The area has a growing population and many recreational options from the snake river in the summer, Mount Harrison, City of Rocks National Preserve and Pomerelle ski resort in the winter. The work load consists of lameness diagnosis, internal medicine,dentistry, theriogenology ( Cool shipped semen AI, foaling mares) and surgery. The clinic has a hydraulic surgery table, an arthroscope, laprascope, endoscopy, gastroscope, diode laser, digital xray, digital ultrasound, thermography, an in-house lab, PRP and motorized dental equipment. The clinic has 2 exam rooms with chutes, 27 stalls, an indoor arena. Associates use current lameness workup to diagnose and treat lameness in performance to backyard and 4H horses. Pregnancy diagnosis and following mare’s cycles to breed AI and in early spring foaling mares with the aid of camera surveillance. Surgeries consist of arthroscopic removal of chip fragments, laprascopic crypt orchid removal, neurectomy, hernia repair, endoscopic laser ablation of uterine cysts and many other general surgical procedures.
We are responsible for the herd health at a 40,000 cow dairy that has 6 rotary decks, work consists of ultrasounding, dystocias, and general herd health. In the fall and spring there are lots of beef cattle to preg check, bangs vaccinate, trich test, and breeding soundness exams for bulls to perform.

Salary:
|
Compensation can be done as a base plus production or production. Associates can expect to make $100,000 to 150,000 or higher depending on production and willingness to work. |
