Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
|
Each veterinarian has their own truck, vet box and Easi-Scan ultrasound. Our large animal practice is predominately mobile with the exception of hospitalized baby calves that are housed at the clinic. Our clinic is equipped with IDEXX blood machines, in-house milk culture, 2 Foremost portable chutes, 1 Arrow portable tub chute, BSE equipment, ATP meter, washer and dryer for coveralls, and a heated 2 door garage area for stocking trucks. |
Other Personnel : |
3 office personnel that coordinate our scheduling, client communications and inventory and one veterinary technician available for both small and large animal assistance. Four veterinarians that share on call equally. |
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
We specialize in dairy and beef reproductive management, vaccine and treatment protocol development, and provide ambulatory and emergency services to our clients. Our days often consist of regular dairy herd checks in the morning and beef chute work in the afternoons. Our clientele is very progressive and many of them are in the process of expanding and transitioning to the next generation. We are adding an additional veterinarian to our team to accommodate client growth, ensure we have enough time to address each client's needs thoroughly, and safe guard each doctor's work-life balance.
We prioritize a healthy work-life balance by supporting one another with ample time off and easily swapping on call schedules to accommodate family schedules and vacation time. We have regularly scheduled doctor meetings every other Wednesday and frequently collaborate on cases. We often share herd health responsibilities with one another to get another set of eyes on our clients' operations and truly embrace a team approach.
We have an experienced team of veterinarians willing to put the time into mentoring the right individual. There is opportunity to develop any of your own special interests within the practice as well. |
Practice Area: |
We mostly serve Winneshiek, Howard and Fayette counties in northeast Iowa. Currently located in a Type II Designated Shortage Region that is eligible for VMLRP. Flexible on where you want to live within the practice area. Strong agricultural community, low cost of living area with Rochester, MN and LaCrosse, WI an hour and a half away. |
