● Bring a practical animal health and one-health perspective to the classroom.
● Lead and teach at least one resident education course in the VBSC major, in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
● Contribute their expertise and experience to other courses, by providing guest labs and lectures.
● Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students in the VBSC major.
Research: The incumbents will be expected to be successful contributors to the Team’s and the Department’s knowledge discovery efforts by:
● Leading and collaborating with colleagues in applied, practical, research and knowledge discovery efforts, focusing on topics of relevance to Pennsylvania’s dairy and livestock industries and the veterinary community, such as antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, infectious and zoonotic diseases, food safety and quality, or other relevant issues and concerns.
● Obtaining intramural and/or extramural funding to support applied research efforts,
● Delivering presentations and posters at scientific meetings, as well as publishing abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and/or case reports.
● Participating or leading in the training and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students in research.
