Objective:
|
Opening for full-time associate veterinarian. The primary duties will consist of routine herd visits, sick animal work and emergency calls. In addition, there is limited small animal (on farm services) and small ruminant work available. Emergency duty - weeknight, weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning) and holiday coverage would be split among 4 veterinarians. Future ownership buy-in is possible. |

Training Required:
|
Veterinary degree, Pennsylvania state license, and federal accreditation. |

Experience Desired:
|
Both new graduates and experienced veterinarians are welcome to apply. Proficiency at palpation/ultrasound is a necessity. |

Salary:
|
Commensurate with experience. New graduates should expect a straight salary initially with transition into a base with service incentive after the first year of employment. |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

Fully stocked practice vehicle. Coveralls are provided along with a cleaning service for them. We have a practice central office containing a supply warehouse, an in-house lab for milk microbiology, a front office, a partner’s office, and a group associate’s office. |

Three full-time veterinarians, two part-time veterinarians, two office staff, and we use an after-hour’s answering service for incoming calls. |

Incorporated in 1974, Gap Veterinary Associates Inc., has a long history of service to dairy clients in Gap and the surrounding communities. We trace the roots of our practice back 100 years. Our client base is primarily small family farms (predominantly Amish), many of them for multiple generations. We also continue to welcome new clients and in 2018, we purchased a neighboring practice in Strasburg to further expand our practice. The successful candidate will be joining a team of veterinarians with 1-35 years of experience. Our team endeavors to work together to provide consistent and timely service for clients, while allowing flexibility for time off for family and other interests. |

Practice area of approximately 25 mile radius of Gap, PA, including southern and eastern Lancaster County as well as Chester County. We are located in the heart of Amish country in Lancaster County. We are approximately one hour’s drive west of Philadelphia, an hour and a half’s drive north from Baltimore, MD, and two and a half hours southwest from New York City. |
