As a company, Sioux Nation Ag Center strives to bring professional veterinary, nutrition and financial services to independent family farmers. We are a third-generation, family-owned business that works like a family to help farm families achieve their livestock goals. Sioux Nation Ag is a fixture in the Scotland community and people in Scotland are appreciative of having local veterinary care. We provide not only veterinary services, but nutrition services through the company's nutritionists. As an associate, your emphasis will be on mixed animal practice, but primarily beef cattle. If you have a specific interest, Sioux Nation Ag is happy to help to develop that niche.
Practice Area:  This position is located in southeast South Dakota in the town of Scotland, population 841. Scotland has a hospital/pharmacy, multiple daycares, a grocery store, a post office, a nursing home, a hardware store, and a great elementary/high school. Our cost of living is one of the lowest in the United States and South Dakota does not collect income taxes. We are only a thirty-minute drive from Yankton (population 14,500) and 40 miles from Mitchell (population 15,000), two regional hubs in the state. Though most residents do their business locally, these cities provide shopping opportunities for specialty stores and employment for family members. Scotland offers great outdoor opportunities including hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping. In particular, the James River located a few miles east of town is a flyway for duck migration, and includes hundreds of acres of open hunting for waterfowl, deer, turkey and upland game. Scotland also has many clubs and associations that are happy to welcome new people into the community.
