Job Description:
Objective:
|
We are looking for an associate veterinarian to join our growing, busy, cattle-only practice. We are a consulting practice with the primary duty of helping our clients be successful in raising healthy, productive calves using good management practices and judicious use of vaccines and medications. Each veterinarian rotates for an office day of emergency calls during the week. We strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology. Our practice has an ultrasound available for TUS. We routinely run bacterial cultures in house to get answers quickly for our clients.
In addition to client consultation, CalfCare conducts contract research trials and generates calves for research companies. We have research facilities that house calves involved in research trials. Candidates need to be eager to learn and keep learning. Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Candidates must have a strong background or interest in bovine population medicine, pathology, immunology, animal husbandry and scientific inquiry. They need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and driven to be a collaborative team member. If a candidate has additional interests in pursuing areas of specialty that pertain to production animal medicine, in addition to what has been previously mentioned, then they are strongly encouraged to apply.
