Job Description:
Objective:
|
Our practice is in need of a 7th large animal veterinarian specializing in dairy production medicine. The position includes an emphasis on dairy herd health, dairy records, dairy worker training and dairy palpations. The position includes some beef, small ruminant and limited equine work. After hours emergency coverage is equally split between large animal doctors. |
Training Required:
|
DVM or equivalent. Colorado license. Federal accreditation. Controlled substance licensing eligibility. Auto insurability. |
Experience Desired:
|
Experience or internships are beneficial. A good attitude, self confidence, the desire to work and improve oneself is more important. |
Salary:
|
Salary is negotiable depending on experience. The benefit package is typical of the position and includes an added flat fee for each after hours call. |

2000 sq ft large animal building includes small retail area, exam and treatment area, doctor and staff office areas. Ultrasounds, DR digital x-ray units, full Idexx in house lab, 7 ambulatory trucks. A separate 4000 sq ft small animal facility and staff is also part of the practice. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:

Dairy herd health analysis and worker training programs. Beef involves smaller cow/calf operations. Equine practice is strong in lameness, dentistry and reproduction. Small animal includes diagnostic medicine, dentistry, general and orthopedic surgery. Our objective is that we have specialized personnel on staff that can help you care for all of your animals. Mentorship is prioritized to allow new graduates to become confident in all areas of mixed animal practice.
