Objective:
|
Orangeville Animal Health is a busy mixed animal clinic that values patient care, connecting with clients, and work-life balance. We are located in the rolling hills of northern Illinois, right on the border of Wisconsin. We are looking to fill a position in a 3-doctor mixed animal practice. Ideally it would be a full-time position that would be approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animal, however, that is negotiable based on skill set, experience, and availability. The practice provides emergency services for our large animal clients only and our small animal clients are directed to dedicated emergency clinics after-hours. The applicant would be expected to rotate on-call for nights, weekends, and holidays equally with the other doctors in the practice. We build in time off on the schedule to compensate for on-call. |

Training Required:

The applicant will need to have an IL and WI DVM license and DEA license and controlled substance license. |

Experience Desired:
|
We expect the doctor to have a basic knowledge and skill of veterinary medicine and a willingness to learn. We encourage mentoring and if the applicant has specific interests, and we are willing to work with them in order to grow these skills. |

Negotiable, depending on skill level, years in practice, and interests. |

Vehicle (with maintenance, gas, inventory, vet bed, and insurance included) and on call cell phone shared with other associates; stipend for CE, 10 days personal vacation each year, 5 days CE time each year, profession dues for IL and WI license, IVSMA, AVMA, AABP and possibly others, stipend for supplies/clothes needed, medical insurance stipend, and liability insurance. More benefits are negotiable. |

We are an established mixed animal clinic and have been in the area for over 50 years. We see about 60% small animal, and 40% large animal. Our large animal is comprised of mostly dairy with some equine, small ruminant, and beef. We try to be a fairly progressive practice. Our small animal clinic was built in 2008 and we have a CR digital X-ray, IDEXX blood analyzer machine for CBC, Chemistry, and Coagulation panels, gas anesthesia, ultrasound, anesthesia monitoring machine, etc. For large animal, our clinic also houses an indoor chute system to work cattle as well as a portable chute to take to farms, multiple ultrasounds, electro ejaculator, etc.
