Large Animal Associate -- Four-day work week with shared on call for large animal. Two nights a week and every 3rd to 4th weekend on call. The on-call schedule is fairly quiet. Eighty-five percent mobile work with a barn at the hospital for pigs and small ruminants. You will have a work station at the hospital for paperwork/callbacks, etc. A laptop is provided and we use Neovet cloud-based software for use off site if needed. We run 2 Toyota Tacoma's with Bowie units. The majority of large animal work is with dairy cattle with some beef cattle, goats, sheep and pigs. We inspect flocks for a local poultry company, so we are unable to see birds of any type and we do not see any equine. A bulk of the week is reproduction on dairy farms utilizing trans-rectal Easi-Scan linear probes and goggles. If interested in small animal medicine the opportunity to branch out is possible but not required.
Training Required:
DVM or equivalent. Licensure for both NH and VT

1 other small animal vet and 1 mixed vet. Hoping to add another small animal vet also, so if mixed practice is what you desire, then the opportunity is there.
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
Dairy Reproductive work and consultation, sick cow/cattle work. Surgical skills for DA's, C-sections etc.
Practice Area:
Majority of farms are within 18 mile radius with some outlier farms. We are in the Southwest corner of New Hamphires, which is a beautiful area to practice. We service farms in Vermont also.
