Objective:
|
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time Tenure track or Clinical track position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. This position will provide medical & surgical case management, contribute to the instruction of professional students, graduate students and interns/residents and provide service to the school, university, and the community. A tenure track position will have the expectation of an independent research commitment. |
Training Required:
|
Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed a residency or possess an advanced degree in agriculture, animal science, public health, epidemiology, toxicology, or another related field. Board certification or eligibility in ACVIM, ACVS, ACT, ACVPM or ABVP is required. Veterinary licensure in the state of Louisiana or a Faculty license will be required. Excellent communication skills are expected of the applicant. |

The Food Animal Department just completed a full renovation of our section to include a surgery suite, bull stalls and a small ruminant swine treatment area. The LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital offers imaging technology including digital radiography, ultrasonography, scintigraphy, CT, MRI, respiratory endoscopy, and gastroscopy, a state of the art tilt table and hydraulic chute, a large surgery room with a hoist system for large animal surgeries, access to a ten-stall, air-conditioned intensive care unit for more critical patients and 24/7 technician support for optimum care, and a large working area for cattle which includes 5 large stalls, roundabout, large galvanized steel gates for maneuvering cattle. |
