Job Description:
 

Objective:
 The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, Knoxville, TN, invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, calendar-year, clinical non-tenure or tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate's clinical service will be in the Farm Animal Field Service (FAFS) section of the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team supporting the teaching, clinical service, outreach, and research missions of the College. The successful candidate will share service and teaching responsibilities with faculty members in FAFS. Clinical duties include ambulatory field service and shared after-hours emergency coverage. After-hours emergency coverage is predominantly provided by a designated emergency clinician with the remaining roughly 35% shared among FAFS faculty. The call radius for after-hours is 40 miles. This position is critical to meet the growing needs of the expanding veterinary student class and to ensure high-quality clinical experiences for students interested in large animal practice. The primary responsibilities include providing clinical services to farm animal patients, teaching and mentoring veterinary students, and contributing to research activities in the field of farm animal medicine. The farm animal caseload is varied with approximately 7,000 cases annually and consists of approximately 50% beef cattle, 20% dairy cattle, 25% small ruminant/camelid and 5% swine. 
Training Required:
 Qualifications The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an individual to join the Farm Animal Field Services Team to support the teaching, clinical service, outreach, and research missions of the College. Applicants must have a DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school and at least three years of relevant experience with farm animal species (cattle, small ruminants, camelids, and swine).  
Experience Desired:
 Strong interpersonal skills, excellent work ethic, and a committed desire to work with current faculty to expand services to existing and new clients are highly desirable.

 State of the art veterinary teaching hospital, including 2 fully equipped vehicles dedicated to livestock production medicine. Please contact for more details.  
Other Personnel :  Within the Farm Animal Field Service group there are 4 veterinarians serving the local clients, research and teaching mission of UTCVM. Our group also includes one licensed veterinary technician and one veterinary assistant. Additionally, the service is supported by UTCVM veterinary diagnostic laboratories, Large Animal Clinical Sciences office staff and client communications staff.  
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
 Current Farm Animal Field Service veterinarians include 2 Large Animal Internal Medicine Specialists and 1 Theriogenologist.  
Practice Area:  Our immediate practice area for primary care exists within a 40 mile radius of Knoxville, TN, however daytime scheduled farm visits frequently exceed this radius.
