Job Description:

Objective:
|
In need of an associate veterinarian, or 2, for our mixed animal practice. Small animal portion of the practice is constantly growing and there is the need for some equine work that we cannot currently provide. Practicing high quality veterinary medicine is a must. On-call duties will be split evenly amongst veterinarians. |

Training Required:
|
DVM and eligible to practice in Nebraska. Must obtain Category 2 USDA accreditation. |

Experience Desired:
|
Open to all qualified applicants. New grads will receive extra assistance and more time to become adjusted to practice life, we won't turn you loose until you and I feel confident! |

Salary:
|
Negotiable based on experience. After-hours pay is additional to salary.
We are in a VMLRP area with USDA so there is the possibility for additional compensation! |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
|
Approximately 4,500 sq. ft. facility that house large animal surgery, small animal and offices. Main building has 2 exam rooms, treatment/surgical prep room, surgery room, feline recovery room, canine recovery room, grooming room, lab with Idexx Chemistry, CBC and urinalysis machines, and digital x-ray room. Separate kennel building and isolation room. Large animal haul-in facility and processing with ability to hold 2 semi-loads of cattle. Portable hydraulic tilting calf chute, 2 portable hydraulic cattle chutes for country work. |

Currently 1 veterinarian, an office manager and 3 veterinary assistants as well as seasonal help. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
Cow/calf: pregnancy exams via rectal palpation and ultrasound; bull breeding soundness exams and heard health programs. Feedlot: herd health consultations. Small Animal: routine exams, vaccinations and surgeries. |

Bridgeport is in Morrill County located in the panhandle of Nebraska. Bridgeport is the County Seat with a population of ~ 1550. We have a local hospital and a good school system. The majority of our clients are within a 30 mile radius, but we have some upto 75 miles from Bridgeport. We are within 2.5 hours from the Black Hills of SD and within 4 hours of the Rocky Mountains. Numerous outdoor activities available which include: camping, fishing, large game hunting, upland bird hunting and waterfowl hunting. |
