Objective:
 Are you considering making a switch to companion animal practice that is unique from general practice? Do you pride yourself in your palpating efficiency but also enjoy the 6 minute cat spay? Don't want to be on call, work evenings or weekends? Consider The Pet Advocate. The Pet Advocate is a spay/neuter/wellness center that provides affordable spay, neuter, dental and wellness services for local animal rescues, shelters and the general public. We are looking for a compassionate veterinarian with the desire to provide high quality, affordable care for public, rescue and shelter pets. We foster a continual learning environment and place a strong emphasis on mentorship. We are a family oriented practice that understands work life balance and appreciates a fixed schedule without on-call or after hour duties. Duties and Responsibilities include: Perform pre-surgical examinations on patients prior to surgery. Safely and efficiently perform spay/neuter procedures (25-30/day). Maintain complete and accurate medical records. Communicate effectively with clients. Assist with surgical dental extractions. Additional surgical procedures may include hernia repair, enucleation, amputation, dew claw removal etc.  
Training Required:
 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine-DVM. 2 years of experience in small animal practice recommended but not required. New grads encouraged to apply with TNR experience. Able to safely and efficiently perform high volume, high quality spay and neuter experience required. Extensive mentoring provided.  
Experience Desired:
 Interest in providing quality care to pets in need.  
Salary:
 $175,000-$225,000 annual salary (full time) depending on experience. Part time positions also available. Company vehicle provided for commute (full time only).

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
 Our practice provides veterinarians with everything necessary to provide quality surgical services. Spay/neuter/surgical: 4 surgical prep tables and 3 surgery tables. Dental: New progeny digital dental x ray machine. 2 new dental stations including 1 midmark 1000 and 1 dentalaire prestige dental unit.  
Other Personnel :  Fully staffed practice with 1 veterinarian, 2 receptionists,3 RVTs, 5 technician/assistants and 1 practice manager.  
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
 The Pet Advocate takes pride in providing quality, affordable surgical and wellness services to a wide variety of patients and clientele. We work closely with local shelters, rescue organizations and public clients from the central valley and the greater bay area. Doctors and staff can expect to work closely together in a team environment. We offer continual mentorship to all members of the practice. Veterinarians are offered extensive 1 on 1 instruction in high quality/ high volume spay/neuter techniques. Doctors can expect to perform 20+ spay neuter procedures and oversee 2-3 dental procedures daily. Dental extractions are performed by RVT staff. 
Practice Area:  Tracy is a rapidly growing city in the central valley of California. We are located 1 hour from the beach, 2 hours from Yosemite, 3 hours from world class ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. Outdoor recreation including hiking, boating, swimming and fishing are just 10 minutes away in the California delta region. Within 30 minutes drive there is a great variety of shopping and fine dining available.
