Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

Each livestock DVM is provided their own truck with a vet unit, as well as an ultrasound, laptop computer, cell phone and all necessary veterinary equipment and supplies. Our new large animal hospital opened in 2018. We have a haul-in cattle handling area with a hydraulic chute and hoof chute, scale and semi ramp. The hospital also features several box stalls and calf pens for hospitalized cases. Each stall has a camera for remote monitoring. We also have a large animal surgery suite with hydraulic table and gas anesthesia. We have an EU accredited embryo lab on site as well as an accredited mobile lab. We share general laboratory space and personnel with our small animal and equine divisions. In house lab capabilities include aerobic and mycoplasma culture, CBC and serum chemistry, and fecal egg analysis. A central pharmacy at the clinic has dedicated staff to handle drug sales and inventory, and there is heated garage space for cleaning and restocking the trucks. We also have a portable hydraulic chute for work in the field. Dairycomp305 is available on several computers for records analysis, as well as a projector for client presentations. Semen evaluation equipment is available for in house or mobile bull work. ATP meters are available for calf hygiene audits, with calf health being a growth area in our practice. We are equipped for IVF work in cattle and laparoscopic AI and ET for small ruminants. |
Other Personnel : |
We employ Veterinary Service Specialists, Certified Veterinary Technicians and assistants to support doctors with scheduling, and help with ambulatory calls and work within the hospital. |
Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
We truly enjoy working together as a team and frequently collaborate on general herd care and individual cases. We have a diverse team of doctors ranging from 1 to 30+ years of experience. We have regular group meetings and work hard to maintain a cohesive team culture. Our clients are progressive and appreciate innovation. Our services include general herd health care, ultrasound, Dairy Comp 305, calf and heifer wellness, field surgery procedures, obstetrics and advanced reproductive procedures. We have an in house culture lab and a strong track record in records benchmarking and consulting work. Surgical procedures include in-hospital offerings such as navel resections, joint flushes, planned C Sections and more. We are able to offer advanced care of young calves including in house IV fluids, plasma transfusions, and nebulizer therapy. We try to stay on the cutting edge of what's possible in livestock practice and have a client base that appreciates the advanced offerings. |
Practice Area: |
Our practice is located in beautiful Lodi, WI, about 35 minutes north of Madison. The Greater Dane County area is one of the best dairy areas in the nation. Our clients are very progressive, growing and committed for the long haul. We have about an hour radius with most of our clients within a half hour of the clinic which means less windshield time for you!
Outside of work, bluffs, streams, and lakes are intermixed with excellent farmland. Fishing, hiking, hunting and boating opportunities abound. The Ice Age Trail has several segments close by. Madison is nearby with many entertainment, shopping, and cultural activities are available. |
