Job Description:

Objective:
|
Sunshine Genetics is looking for a 4th veterinarian to join our growing business of producing, transferring and exporting bovine embryos worldwide. Sunshine Genetics has been producing in vivo embryos since the early 1980s and began producing in vitro embryos through a partnership with Trans Ova Genetics in 2011. In 2023, our in house IVF laboratory opened, which has added additional services offered to our clients.
Duties:
- Collection, processing and morphologic evaluation of in-vivo produced bovine embryos.
- Aspirate donor animals via transvaginal ovum pick up.
- Transfer of both fresh and frozen embryos.
- Process ovum pick up filters and oocytes into maturation media.
- Evaluate In Vitro embryos according to IETS standards and load for fresh transfer.
- Discuss donor and recipient schedules with team members and clients.
- Donor reproductive ultrasound exams including early pregnancy and fetal sex determination.
- Assist with management of in house donor animals for maximal health and reproductive performance.

Training Required:

Education and other requirements (or ability to acquire):
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
- Ability to acquire veterinary licensure in Wisconsin and Illinois
- Accreditation with USDA-APHIS
- American Embryo Transfer Association certification |

Approximately 50% of this position is in house at our Donor facility with the remainder on client farms.
Road work is daily travel only with no overnight stays away from home required.
