Objective of Talk Vaccination can help cattle and calves resist disease, but vaccines must be used with an understanding of the factors that allow them to work, or that may prevent them from being effective. This presentation will briefly review mechanisms of vaccination, and factors that support or limit vaccine efficacy. Then, vaccines useful in cow-calf, stocker, and feedlot production will be reviewed, and the AABP Vaccination Guidelines will be discussed.
