Objective of Talk |
Modern veterinary medicine has embraced preventative medicine as a means to avoid disease but now it is time to take this approach one step further. Educating clients about the early signs of illness and developing a client communication plan in order to avoid prolonged delays in care and maximize positive outcomes. This - in turn - can help to avoid excessive late-night calls, poor outcomes, and the associated burnout that plague especially the youngest members of our profession. Expanding our efforts to preventing late-stage emergency situations by educating clients on the early signs of trouble and setting clear expectations for early communication with the veterinary team can help to improve quality of live and retention for livestock practitioners. |
