Training Required:

Position requires a Montana veterinary license or ability to obtain one and Category II USDA accreditation. |

Experience Desired:
|
We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, and a great ability to communicate. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the cattle industry or willing to learn, as our practice provides service to the local stockyards as well as many purebred and commercial beef cattle operations.
Veterinary work includes routine health, pregnancy palpation, sick animal work, dystocias, DAs, herd management, breeding soundness exams, fertility testing, equine lameness, and dentistry. Emergency coverage is shared on rotation between doctors. |

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:

The practice has a large haul-in facility that includes a dedicated horse barn with stocks and padded knock-down room for procedures/surgeries. Separate cow barn includes hydraulic chute, tub/alley way and pipe pen system that allows for working of multiple groups of cattle. There is also a separate indoor maternity pen with head catch. The practice is well equipped including digital radiography, multiple ultrasounds, state-of-the-art equipment for fertility testing, power dentistry, the afore mentioned hydraulic chute and padded knock-down room and much more. A fully equipped vet truck for farm/ranch calls is provided as well as portable chute.

A dedicated veterinary technician is provided daily to each veterinarian to assist with appointments. |

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
|
Practice works closely with purebred and commercial beef cattle operations and is consulted often regarding herd health programs. High quality equine care including routine vaccinations, dental floats, many laceration repairs, equine lameness exams and working with local farriers to facilitate foot health and other medical cases with ability to refer nearby for colic surgeries. Our doctors are encouraged to develop their own special interests. We currently have doctors trained in Pulmonary Arterial Pressure Testing for High Mountain Disease in cattle and are the only practice in the state that offer this service.
